We are looking for three cooks to work in our bowl food outlet in Auckland.
Responsibilities
- Prepare appetizers, soups and salads.
- Prepares and cook Japanese dishes and foods.
- Maintains food preparation handling and correct storage standards.
- Ensures quality of food and determine size of food proportions.
- Ensures that all food is creatively and attractively presented at all times.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Manage food prep activities, like boiling rice.
- Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed.
- Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies.
- Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.

- Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
- Recommend new, modern recipes, based traditional cooking techniques.
- Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.
Requirements and skills
- Work experience in cookery in Asian restaurant or level 2 qualification.
- Good knowledge of various types and techniques of food preparation.
- Ability to work both fast and accurately.
- Team spirit.
- Availability to work during business hours, including weekends, public holidays and evenings.
- Flexibility to take on various shifts.
- Able to do heavy lifting.
